February 2010.

I returned back to work full time at Chase Bank. And when I say full time, I mean minimum 45-50 hours each week, 6 days a week. Monday-Saturday most weeks. Every now and then I actually get a Saturday off of work, and that's such a treat. With me working such long days we have to stick to a routine during the week in the evenings. When I get home, I nurse Caliana, then we play for a while, then it's bath time, nursing some more, and then bedtime. Caliana has really begun to enjoy her time in the bath. Here's a cute picture of her.

Other highlights of February 2010, were our brother-in-law Ardi retiring from 20 years of service in the US Navy. Miriam, (Adam's sister, Ardi's wife) planned a fantastic retirement party and we all celebrated. Here's a picture of Caliana's cousin Hurley holding her at the retirment party. Do you see the family resemblance? Lastly, Caliana is such a daddy's girl. Adam is totally wrapped around her sweet finger. Here's daddy snuggling with Caliana.

Lookback to January 2010

Here we are, January 1, 2011. Obviously the blog we intended to start last year did not go so well. Once I went back to work from my maternity leave all free time went out the window. It takes a lot for a working mommy to balance life, parenting, working, being a wife, cooking, cleaning, and everything else.... so I gave up on the blog for a while... (like a year...) but here's a quick recap of 2010

January 2010

January was the last month of my maternity leave, and Caliana and I spent a lot of time just snuggling together, nursing, going on playdates to Kelly Shaver's house (Kelly has a son James who is 5 weeks older than Caliana). Adam flew to San Diego at the end of January to spend time with Grandma Lois Stecker and celebrate her 91st birthday. While in San Diego, Adam also got to catch up with Aunt Barbara and Uncle John and their two canine "children". :) Caliana and I stayed home, we weren't ready to take her on a plane as she was not quite 3 months old.

Here's a pic of Grandma Stecker with Adam. Grandma Stecker is an artist and quite talented. For 91 years old she doesn't let her age slow her down. Grandma's motto is: I don't have many years left to live, so I'm going to LIVE the years I've got left!!! Thanks to Aunt Barbara and Uncle John helping out when necessary Grandma has been able to stay in her home and spends her free time creating her artwork.

Photo Shoot

Today Adam and KristiAnn took Caliana for pictures. We were a bit concerned about how she would do at the photo shoot as babies can be unpredictable to say the least. Our sweet baby girl was wonderful, she was such a ham and had a lot of fun smiling at the photographer and at mommy and daddy standing behind the photographer making silly faces. Here are some of our favorite poses.

Caliana is such a joy and we really enjoy being her parents. She is at the stage now where she is finding her hands and enjoys trying to suck her thumb. She spends a lot of time with her hands clasped at her chest like she is in prayer. She is approx. 11 pounds now and seems to be growing taller every day!

A blogging we may go...

Here we go... this is our first attempt at a blog. Many people make resolutions come each new year, and one of ours is to continue to try new things. We've thought about creating a blog for a while. Adam and I enjoy reading other people's blogs but have just never found the time to create a blog of our own. So now we find ourselves in the new year, with a new baby and new-found inspiration. We hope you will enjoy this peek into our lives!
